Actor Vijayakanth undergoes surgery; Three toes get amputated

Popular Tamil actor and politician, Vijayakanth, popularly called 'Captain' in the film industry, underwent surgery the other day. Three toes of his right leg were amputated through surgery. Vijayakanth's political party, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) issued an official statement regarding the surgery.

It was reported that the actor has been suffering from diabetes for a long time. It has caused an irregular flow of blood to his toes. Thus, the toes had to be amputated as per the advice of doctors. Apparently, he will be discharged in a day or two.

Meanwhile, various Tamil film industry celebrities, politicians and fans are sending their prayers for the speedy recovery of the actor.

Superstar Rajinikanth tweeted, "I pray to the Almighty for the swift recovery of my dear friend Vijayakanth and I hope that he roars like a Captain as before."

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan wrote, "I wish my friend Vijayakanth, who is undergoing treatment in a hospital, recovers completely and returns back home soon."

Actor Satyaraj released a video and stated, "I wish my dear friend Viji, who is fondly called as 'Captain' by all, will recover completely and returns home soon."
