Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor reveal their daughter's name

HYDERABAD: Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor embraced parenthood earlier this month. Alia gave birth to a little baby girl on November 6. Now, the couple named their daughter 'Raha'. Alia took to social media to announce the name of her daughter.

Alia also stated that the name Raha was chosen by Ranbir's mother Neetu Kapoor. Sharing a picture of herself with Ranbir and Raha, Alia wrote, "The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings…"

"Raha, in its purest form means divine path in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla - rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her - we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun," she further added. Netizens liked the name and are pouring wishes on little Raha.

Ranbir and Alia got married in April this year, after dating for more than five years. Their film Brahmastra was released a couple of months ago and became a hit at the box office.
