HYDERABAD: We have already informed our readers a few days ago that Animal will have a great scope to perform well once it gets released on OTT. After witnessing the phenomenal performance of Salaar on Netflix, we predicted that Animal could recreate the magic. Now, the same is happening on the streaming platform.
In December, the film "Animal" significantly impacted the box office with Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. Sandeep Reddy Vanga is the director, and the film was released on Netflix on January 26, coinciding with Republic Day.
Upon its release on Netflix, Animal surpassed the record set by Salaar, which was already on the platform. Not only did Animal claim the top spot in the list of trending movies on Netflix India, but it also secured the number one position in approximately 16 countries.
Regarding viewership, Animal continued its dominance, maintaining its position as the top film on Netflix India's list. In contrast, Salaar, which became available on OTT on January 20, four weeks after its theatrical release, currently holds the second spot in India.
Within the first three days on Netflix, Animal garnered 62 lakh views and 20.8 million hours of viewership. On the other hand, Salaar recorded 35 lakh views in its initial ten days, accumulating 10.3 million hours of viewership.
