Anirudh's grandfather passes away

Star music director Anirudh's maternal grandfather SV Ramanan passed away on September 26. His final rites will be held in Chennai today at 3 PM. He was 87. It is reported that Ramanan passed away due to age-related health issues and prolonged illness.

Ramanan is the son of the iconic Tamil director K. Subrahmanyam. Ramanan lent his voice to various popular radio and television advertisements. Many people used to remember advertisements through his voice.

Ramanan is also a filmmaker who made several documentaries on arts and architecture. He also directed a Tamil film titled Uruvangal Maralam, which was released in 1983. YG Mahendran and Suhasini played the lead roles in it. Several stars like g Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth and Jaishankar made guest appearances in the movie. Ramanan also composed the music for it.

Ramanan is survived by his wife Bama Ramanan and daughters Lakshmi and Saraswathi. Anirudh happens to be his daughter's son.

The entire Tamil film industry and fans of Tamil cinema are paying condolences to the grieving family.
