Arjun Reddy for Vijay Deverakonda & Baby for Anand Deverakonda
Anand debuted with the 2019 period romantic drama, Dorasani, which unfortunately didn't fare well at the box office
HYDERABAD: Arjun Reddy proved to be a pivotal moment in Vijay Deverakonda's career, catapulting him to overnight stardom and transforming him into a nationwide sensation. Now, it seems that Baby is following a similar path, becoming a game-changer for Vijay's younger brother, Anand Deverakonda.
Anand debuted with the 2019 period romantic drama, Dorasani, which unfortunately didn't fare well at the box office. His second film, Middle-Class Melodies, received a positive response upon its direct OTT release, but it couldn't be considered a theatrical success. Despite trying his luck in a couple of other films, Anand struggled to find a hit.
A week ago, he came up with his new film Baby.. Directed by Sai Rajesh and featuring Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin in prominent roles, the movie garnered unanimous praise from audiences right from its first show. Baby's bold and contemporary content strongly appealed to the younger generation, leading to a humongous response and crossing the breakeven mark within its first weekend.
So far, the film has collected a gross of 66.6 Cr rupees in 10 days.
As a result, Baby is well on its way to becoming a cult blockbuster, mirroring the path of Vijay's breakout hit with Arjun Reddy. Baby is definitely the 'Arjun Reddy' for Anand Deverakonda.
