HYDERABAD: Baba is a film that is very close to Superstar Rajinikanth's heart. Even though it was a flop, this movie is well enjoyed by his fans even now. The makers have remastered the film and are releasing it soon in theatres. The trailer of the remastered version is now out on the internet.
Sharing the trailer, Rajinikanth tweeted, "A film that will forever be closest to my heart … #Baba remastered version releasing soon." The remastering has been done well as the visuals look sharp and the audio mix also sounds great. It is heard that the remastered version will be 30 minutes shorter than the original version.
Baba was a disaster when it was released. At that time, Rajini compensated for all the losses incurred by distributors. When asked the reason behind rereleasing this movie, director Suresh Krishna stated that it is because of the increasing popularity of fantasy films in current times.
Baba features Manisha Koirala as the leading lady. AR Rahman composed the music for it. Sujatha, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Goundamani, Amrish Puri and Bharat Dabholkar played other key roles in it. We hear that the remastered version will be released on December 12.
