HYDERABAD: Over the years, we have seen many changes in the Telugu film industry, be it in terms of filmmaking standards or in terms of a single hero handling multiple tasks. In the past, we had heroes like NT Rama Rao and Krishna, who used to multi-task in some of their films.

Apart from being a terrific actor, NTR proved to be a capable director by making a mythological epic like Dana Veera Soora Karna. He played three characters in the movie, directed it and finished the shoot in one and a half months. That proves his dedication towards various crafts.

On the flip side, Krishna produced a high-budget film like Simhasanam in the 80s. He played a dual role and it also happens to be the first 70mm Telugu film. Krishna's financial risk paid off and the film became a box-office blockbuster.

After them, no other heroes showed interest in both direction and action. After all these years, Nandamuri Balakrishna is taking up that challenge. Recently, he said that he will make a sequel to Aditya 369. Titled Aditya 999, this movie will be directed by Balayya himself. He also wrote the script of it. The film will hit the floors next year. We have to see if Balayya pulls off this challenge successfully like NTR and Krishna.
