Bhamayugam & Premalu shaking the box office

HYDERABAD: Two Malayalam films, 'Bhamayugam' and 'Premalu', have grabbed the attention of Telugu audiences with their recent releases. While the Telugu audience is usually focused on their own cinema, the success and talk surrounding these Malayalam films have become a topic of discussion.

'Mammootty starrer 'Bhamayugam' stands out for its unique approach, shot entirely in black and white. Despite some pacing issues in the storyline, the film has garnered praise for its performances, cinematography, and background score. The film has managed to collect an impressive Rs. 10 crores within just two days of its release, indicating a growing interest among audiences.

'Premalu', a Malayalam romantic drama set against the backdrop of Hyderabad, has also received positive reviews and is reported to have crossed Rs. 35 crores in collections. With a modest budget of Rs. 3 crores, the film has become a profitable venture for its producers.

Given its success, there are discussions within the industry about remaking or dubbing the film in other languages, including Telugu.
