Big disappointment by Prabhas' Salaar on small screen
KGF Chapter 1 and KGF Chapter 2 received 11.90 and 9.15 respectively
HYDERABAD: The highly anticipated action drama Salaar, starring Prabhas, faced disappointment during its first television premiere, failing to make a significant impact on viewership. The film garnered a TRP of only 6.52, falling short of expectations when compared to recent Telugu releases on the Star Maa channel.
The film did well on the OTT and resulted in big numbers, in terms of viewership. Surprisingly, many other Telugu films fared well, when compared to Salaar, in terms of the TRP.
Aadi Keshava scored a remarkable 10.47 TRP, the highest in recent times but it was a flop at the box office. Naa Saami Ranga and Skanda both secured TRPs exceeding 8, while Mangalavaaram and Bichagadu managed TRPs in the 7 range.
KGF Chapter 1 and KGF Chapter 2 received 11.90 and 9.15 respectively. In comparison, Salaar fell below the average TRP of these films, indicating a lukewarm response from the television audience. All the three films are directed by Prashanth Neel.
On the other hand, the other entertainment modes available for TV viewers, including the IPL tournament, might have impacted the ratings.
