Box-Office: All releases of last Friday ended up as disasters

HYDERABAD: Every week, we witness multiple releases in theatres but only a few of them manage to impress the audience. Last Friday, there were not one or two but around 17 new releases in Telugu. All these films were small-budget ventures.
The list includes notable films like Panchatantram, Gurthunda Seethakalam and Mukhachitram. There were absolutely no promotions done for these movies. As a result, most of the audiences didn't know that the films are already released.
Good word of mouth will help movies in doing well even if they aren't promoted well. Sadly, none of the movies released on December 9 managed to generate a positive response from the viewers. As a result, all of them ended up as disasters. Meanwhile, HIT 2, which was released on December 2, continued its dominance at the box office and is witnessing steady collections in all centres.
The next big releases in Telugu are Ravi Teja's Dhamaka and Nikhil's 18 Pages. The Tollywood trade circle pinned hopes on these movies. We have to see how they fare at the box office. Both Dhamaka and 18 Pages are getting released on December 23.
