Days ahead of its release, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha landed in a controversy. Hashtags like #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha and #BoycottAamirKhan have started trending on social media and spreading negativity against the film. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan reacted to these comments.
Speaking to the PTI, Aamir Khan said that he actually feels sad because people who are trending these hashtags believe that he is someone who doesn't like India. He added that he really loves the country but it is rather unfortunate to see some people feeling the other way around.
Aamir requested fans and audiences to give his film Laal Singh Chaddha a fair chance. "I want to assure everyone that it's not the case so please don't boycott my films, please watch my films," said Aamir. The netizens recently dug out the old interview clips of Aamir in which he says that he and his wife (now divorced) Kiran Rao thought of moving countries because of the 'growing intolerance' in India.
These comments sparked a huge controversy at that time and it is now affecting Laal Singh Chaddha as well. Directed by Advaith Chandan, this film is slated for worldwide release on August 11.
