HYDERABAD: The whole Telugu diaspora felt proud when one of the most renowned filmmakers in the world, James Cameron, said that he loved SS Rajamouli's action epic RRR. When they met recently at an event, Cameron also had a lengthy chat with Rajamouli, talking about RRR. This video went viral all over social media.
In his recent interview with an Indian television channel, James Cameron spoke about RRR once again. He said that he didn't know what to expect from the movie and was completely astonished after watching it. "The first time I watched it, I was astonished. Not just with the visual style or the good use of VFX but also with the storytelling. There is a classicism to RRR's storytelling that is almost Shakespearean," he said.
"Especially, the Ram character (played by Ram Charan) is very challenging for two-thirds of the movie. Finally, you get to know what is going on in his head. It is heartbreaking," he went on to add.
Cameron's words about Ram Charan's character went viral all over the internet. Ram Charan's father Megastar Chiranjeevi was also overwhelmed by Cameron's appreciation and said that it is a great honour for his son.
Sharing the viral video, Chiru tweeted, "Sir @JimCameron an acknowledgement of his character in #RRR from a Global Icon & Cinematic Genius like you is no less than an Oscar itself! It’s a great honour for @AlwaysRamCharan. As a father, I feel proud of how far he’s come. Ur compliment is a blessing for his future endeavours." Even this tweet is now doing rounds all over social media.
