The Sankranthi festive season, which is the most important business season of Telugu cinema, is just 40 days away.
HYDERABAD: We are just a month away from the new year. The Sankranthi festive season, which is the most important business season of Telugu cinema, is just 40 days away.
This time, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are getting ready to take on each other with their respective films Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. Ace producer Dil Raju is also releasing the Tamil-dubbed film Vaarasudu along with these two movies. So, there is going to be tough competition between these flicks.
Both Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy are produced by Mythri Movie Makers. This is the first time in the history of Telugu cinema that two films of the same production house are releasing during Sankranthi. Meanwhile, this decision poses more disadvantages than advantages. It is heard that the pending financial issues with the distributors with respect to films like Pushpa, Ante Sundaraniki and Sarkaru Vaari Paata are troubling Mythri compound a bit.
However, we hear that they are getting crazy pre-release business offers for Sankranthi releases due to the presence of big stars like Chiru and Balayya. Fans of both heroes have already started social media war. It is expected to intensify in the coming days.
Even though there are only 40 days left for the release, Mythri hasn't started promoting these films in a full-fledged way. Apart from a teaser and a song, none of the promotional material for these movies is out yet. Handling promotions of both films and satisfying fans of both heroes are going to be tough tasks for Mythri Movie Makers. As the time is running out, they have to rush things and maintain balance between the promotions of both films. Let's see how they manage it.
