'D2 - Double Dose' to go on the floor in November

HYDERABAD: 'Dhee,' starring Vishnu Manchu & Genelia Deshmukh, has been a very successful film and had an excellent theatre run during its release. Directed by Srinu Vaitla, the film went on to gain a huge following over the years, especially the performances of Brahmanandam & Sunil.
Post the release of 'Amar Akbar Anthony,' Srinu Vaitla took a long break. Although there were rumors about him, nothing was concrete. It was in 2021 that Vishnu Manchu announced that he should be joining hands with Srinu Vaitla again after a decade, and the film is titled 'D 2 - Double Dose'.
The immediate rumors had been that this might be an official sequel for 'Dhee', and all the actors shall reprise their roles too. Post this, Vishnu got busy with 'Son of India' and did a quick project titled 'Ginna', and there hasn't been any news whatsoever about this project.
Yesterday, Vishnu announced Q&A on his Twitter account, promoting 'Ginna', where he said that his next would be the one with Srinu Vaitla. He cleared that it is not a sequel. It is reported that the film might hit the floors in November.
