HYDERABAD: Allari Naresh is known for his comedy movies. He carved a niche for himself in the industry by scoring comedy blockbusters consecutively. But once his comedy films started failing, Naresh decided to change his route. But, it is not helping his career at the moment.
Some time back, Naresh came up with a serious courtroom drama Naandhi in 2021. It became a sleeper hit at the box office. Later, he came up with Itlu Maredumilli Prajaneekam, which was also a serious film. The film did not meet the expectations.
Recently, he teamed up with the same director Vijay Kanakamedala for his new film Ugram. Touted to be an intense police drama, this movie was released last Friday and failed to impress the audiences.
Going by trailers and teasers, Ugram appeared to be a hit film but the seriousness in the subject and the treatment did not bring any applause to the team.
If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, Naresh is set to team up with director Subbu of Solo Bratuke So Betteru fame for a new film. Apparently, Naresh will play the role of a rowdy in this movie.
Touted to be a period drama, this movie may bring out a grey-shaded side of Naresh. An official announcement of this film is expected to be made soon. On the whole, Naresh decided to go all-out with intense films in his second innings.
