Kamal Hassan had also expressed interest in portraying the legendary musician, but Dhanush appears to be the final choice, considering his past collaborations with Ilaiyaraaja
HYDERABAD: Expected to commence production soon, the biopic of Ilaiyaraaja was announced officially. The film is scheduled for release in 2025. Earlier rumors in August hinted at filmmaker R. Balki planning a biopic on Ilayaraja, with Dhanush rumored to play the lead role.
While there have been no official announcements about the director, the possibility of R. Balki helming the project remains. Kamal Hassan had also expressed interest in portraying the legendary musician, but Dhanush appears to be the final choice, considering his past collaborations with Ilaiyaraaja.
Ilaiyaraaja, having composed over 7,000 songs for nearly 1,000 movies, holds a revered status in the industry. His biopic promises to be a dedicated and passionate portrayal of the maestro's life. Fans eagerly await further updates.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of 'Captain Miller,' an eagerly anticipated action drama. His upcoming project with 'Ranjhanaa' director Anand L. Rai, titled 'Tere Ishk Mein,' has also generated significant anticipation.
The film unit will officially confirm the project's title, the details of the other cast and crew soon. Connekkt Media and Mercuri Group have entered into a co-production deal with this film.
