Dhanush's box-office fight with multiple Telugu films

Kollywood actor Dhanush has joined hands with director Mithran Jawahar for the fourth time for his film, Thiru. This film has three heroines, Raashi Khanna, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Nithya Menen. This film has locked its release date in Telugu as August 18th.

Interestingly, the latest buzz is that this film will clash with almost half a dozen films releasing in the same week.

Aadi Sai Kumar starring Tees Maar Khan, will hit the screens on the 19th. On the same day, Wanted Pandigadu, Commitment, Matarani Mounamidi, Aam Aaha, Love 2 Love, Na Ventapadutuna Chinnawadevaramma will also hit the theatres.

Though none of these above films created enough buzz, it is still a big doubt whether Dhanush's film, along with these many films, will work out at box-office or not.

Also, it is difficult to expect a run without a tremendous word of mouth. Top of all, Vijay Devarakonda's Liger will hit the theatres on August 25th. On the other hand, Bimbisara, Sita Ramam and Karthikeya 2 are performing well at the box office.

Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Thiru has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Veteran director Bhrathiraja and acclaimed actor Prakash Raj are also part of the cast.
