Directors of Sankranthi blockbusters set to test their luck in Kollywood
Both the directors scored big hits this Sankranthi with Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy
HYDERABAD: Of late, the language barriers have been broken, and many pan-India films are coming up at the Indian box office. Even directors are crossing borders and making films with neighboring industry stars. Recently, Vamshi Paidipally and Venky Atluri made films in Tamil, and now, Bobby Kolli may join that list along with Gopichand Malineni. Both the directors scored big hits this Sankranthi with Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.
Vamshi Paidipally came up with his second Kollywood film with Varisu, which featured Thalapathy Vijay as the lead hero. It was a super hit in Tamil but ended up as an average venture in Telugu.
On the other side, Venky Atluri teamed up with Dhanush for the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Sir. This movie was a super hit in both languages.
Now, we hear that Bobby Kolli is following the same path. This Waltair Veerayya director may team up with Superstar Rajinikanth soon. According to Kollywood media, Bobby recently narrated a mass masala commercial script to Rajini, and the latter also liked it. It may hit the floors once Rajini wraps up the project with TJ Gnanvel.
Recently, it was reported that Rajini would team up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a film. But the latest reports hint at a possible collaboration of Rajini and Bobby. If the news is confirmed, we have to see if Bobby can give a big blockbuster for Rajini just like the way he did for Chiranjeevi.
On the other hand, director Gopichand Malineni reportedly narrated a story to Thalapathy Vijay, who liked it instantly. The actor seems to have given a green signal for the project and the pre-production works are reportedly in progress.
