HYDERABAD: Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan's latest flick, 'Vikram' has turned out to be one of the huge blockbusters that actually boosted the box office this year. On its OTT debut too, the film recorded a humongous impression of streamings and continued to trend on social media like it did on its release day.
The film had its television premiere recently and to everyone's surprise, the TRP was very surprising. The film that has maintained a record in almost every aspect of its work, 'Vikram' has received only 4.42 TRP. Needless to say, the effect of OTT is quite applicable in the case of 'Vikram' too.
All the people who could watch it in theatres have covered it and the ones who couldn't, have covered the film when released on OTT. With such humongous success and reach of it, one can expect a drop in viewership but this low is really unexpected. This has actually created a discussion about the overtaking of the audience from television to OTT.
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films, 'Vikram' is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has unofficially begun the works for the next sequel.
