HYDERABAD: Sankranthi for Tollywood is fruitful, with four biggies entertaining the audiences. HanuMan was the first Sankranthi release is still performing well at the box office. As we move ahead from the Republic Day weekend, we have close to ten Telugu movies set to release in the first week of February (on the 2nd). Some raise curiosity, while others feature less known or freshers as the leads.
1. Ambajipet Marriage Band: Suhas plays the lead role in the film. The trailer seems good, and Geetha Arts is backing the project. The film could do well.
2. Boot Cut Balaraju: Produced by 'Bigg Boss' fame Sohail, the film is believed to rely on comedy. Sohail is trying his best to get the attention of the audience.
Apart from the above two films, there is a big lineup of releases, which include Kismat, Dheera, Game On, Happy Ending, Mechanic, Urvi, Chicklets, and Shankara.
While the availability of theaters might not be a problem for these releases, the challenge lies in these films impressing the audiences. The success of these films will largely depend on their content.
Additionally, upcoming releases like Ravi Teja's 'Eagle,' Yatra 2, and Rajinikanth's 'Lal Salaam' are in the promotional phase. With this, the first half of February looks sorted for movie buffs.
