German Film All Quiet on the Western Front wins Best International Feature Film and three more Oscars
Anyways, the Oscars were presented today and the German film All Quiet on the Western Front bagged the Best International Feature award
HYDERABAD: The Film Federation of India snubbed RRR in the selections of India's official entry to the 95th Academy Awards. Instead, it sent Chhello Show, which failed to make it to the final nominations. As a result, RRR didn't get a chance to get nominated in the Best International Picture category.
If it would have got selected by the FFI, there is no doubt that it would have made it to the final nominations. Anyways, the Oscars were presented today and the German film All Quiet on the Western Front bagged the Best International Feature award.
All Quiet on the Western Front is a war drama set in the backdrop of World War 1. It had a worldwide premiere on Netflix last year. Upon its release, the film received a unanimous positive response from both critics as well as the audience.
The film was nominated in nine categories at the Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best International Feature, Best Cinematography, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Production Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling and Best Visual Effects). It won the Best International Feature Film, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Production Design awards, making it the joint fourth most-awarded foreign-language film to achieve this feat after Fanny and Alexander (1982), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), and Parasite (2019).
