Hollywood Critics Association gives clarification about NTR's absence at its awards event
However, Ram Charan's fans projected this win as his achievement and started trolling NTR and his fans on social media
HYDERABAD: Recently, SS Rajamouli's RRR won the Spotlight award at Hollywood Critics Association Awards. Rajamouli, music director MM Keeravani, lead hero Ram Charan and cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar were given an award each under this category. The film's other lead hero, Jr NTR, skipped the event due to personal reasons. Thus, his award was not given at the ceremony. If he would have been there, he would have received it as well.
However, Ram Charan's fans projected this win as his achievement and started trolling NTR and his fans on social media. This fan war reached HCA and eventually, it had to put an official clarification on the internet. It was stated that NTR couldn't attend the event as he is shooting a new film and added that he will receive his award very soon.
"Dear RRR fans & supporters, We did invite N. T. Rama Rao Jr. to attend the #HCAFilmAwards but he is shooting a new film in India. He will be receiving his awards from us shortly. Thank you for all your love and support. Sincerely, The Hollywood Critics Association," tweeted HCA.
Commenting on the post, a user wrote, "He's not able to come due to personal reasons. Lost his brother a week back. Not on movie shooting." HCA noted his clarification and stated, "He was originally shooting a movie which is why he couldn’t attend. His brother's passing happened afterwards and that is why he stepped away from the movie. This is what his publicist told us."
NTR is expected to land in the USA in the first week of March. He will attend the Oscars ceremony along with the cast and crew of RRR.
