HYDERABAD: Superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram was released during this year's Sankranthi. As it was the third film in the combination of Mahesh and director Trivikram, there were huge expectations around it. But the movie ended up as a major disappointment. The film was criticized for its wafer-thin storyline, poor characterization and disengaging screenplay.
Senior actor Jagapathi Babu, who acted in the movie, stated that he didn't enjoy shooting for this movie. In a recent interview, Jagapathi Babu said that initially, when the character was narrated, he felt it was strong. But afterwards, he felt the role became messy. He added that eventually, it became difficult for him to finish the shoot.
People expected Jagapathi Babu to have a meaty role in the movie but were disappointed to see him in a half-baked character. Now, his statements have become a hot topic on social media.
Guntur Kaaram featured Sree Leela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Ramya Krishna and Vennela Kishore in other key roles. Thaman composed the music for it.
