I was offered drugs in the past

HYDERABAD: It is already known that the Telugu film industry often gets stuck in the drug nexus. In the past, we have seen many celebrities getting questioned about their connections with drug peddlers. Now, actor Nikhil made a shocking revelation. He said that he was offered drugs as well but he never took them.

Nikhil participated in an awareness event on Saturday on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking. Speaking to the students at the event, Nikhil said that it is not cool to attend parties and consume drugs.

He said, "You feel cool when you are a part of a party. It is not cool to be a part of parties. Today, I as an actor, can vouch that I have been offered a cigarette, many other things which I cannot name, including narcotics. If I accepted it that day, Happy Days would not have happened to me. If I accepted some other thing at a success party, maybe Karthikeya 2 would not have happened to me."

"If we are in a room, I respect the person who is sober and not people who are high. You should have a clear mindset. Life is beautiful when you say no to drugs. Once you accept them, it is a death sentence. Trust me. It is not just the responsibility of kids but also the responsibility of parents to keep a check on their children. Say no to drugs and say no to narcotics," he further added.
