HYDERABAD: Director SS Rajamouli's interview with The New Yorker has been doing rounds in the media for the last few days. In that interview, Rajamouli was asked if his films are the propaganda tools of the ruling party BJP. Responding to the same, Rajamouli said that he doesn't promote any agenda and all he does is what he feels is good for his cinema.

Quoting this article, popular actress Kangana Ranaut tweeted, "World has stamped controversial on him for what? What controversy he did? He made a film called Bahubali to glorify our lost civilisation, or he made nationalistic RRR? Or he wore dhoti to international red carpets? What controversy he did? Please tell me."

"I know what controversy he did he loves this country and took regional cinema to the world, he is devotional/dedicated to the nation, that’s his fault so they call him controversial but how dare this nation questions Shri Rajamouli ji’s integrity as an individual, shame on you all," she went on to add.

Rajamouli's straightforward statement cleared the air but the pro-BJP actress Kangana's defence of him is now raising doubts again. She also wrote, "I won’t tolerate anything against Rajamouli sir who is like a flame in the rain, A genius and nationalist a yogi of the highest order. We are blessed to have him."

It would have been great if Kangana ended the issue with one tweet. But her debate with netizens is not only pushing herself but also Rajamouli into this controversy.
