The Film Federation of India (FFI) selected the Gujarati film Chhello Show (Last Film Show) as India's official entry for the upcoming Academy Awards. Everyone expected that SS Rajamouli's RRR will be picked by FFI but a relatively unknown Gujarati film was selected it.

Chhello Show is directed by Pan Nilan. It has been touring around various Film Festivals for the last couple of years. Now, as it has been picked as India's official entry for the Oscars, everyone is interested to watch it on the big screen.

The makers have officially announced that Chhello Show will have a worldwide release on October 14. It is expected to have a good release in all metro cities of India, apart from the cities and towns in Gujarat. Chhello Show features Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Shrimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Raval and Paresh Mehta in prominent roles.

It premiered at the 20th Tribeca Film Festival on 10 June 2021. The film deals with the story of a young boy who befriends a cinema projector technician to watch films. Later, cinema becomes a part of his life. Many netizens have also alleged that the film is inspired by the 1988 Italian-French co-production, Cinema Paradiso.
