HYDERABAD: The Telugu film industry is one of the biggest film fraternities in India. We now have heroes and directors who enjoy nationwide stardom. But to bring the industry to this stage, there was an enormous effort from the members of the first generation of Tollywood.

Whenever we talk about the Telugu film industry's first generation, the names that pop up in our minds are Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, Krishna and Krishnam Raju. These were the four pillars of Telugu cinema in the initial stages.

NTR and ANR ruled Telugu cinema during the 1950s and 1960s. They were joined by Krishna and Krishnam Raju in the latter half of the 1960s. Since then, all these heroes delivered sensational blockbusters and amassed massive stardom across Telugu land.

NTR passed away in 1996. ANR left this world in 2014. Krishnam Raju passed away in September this year and now, we have lost Krishna. With the demise of these four legends, we can officially say that it is an end of an era in Telugu cinema. They will be remembered till the time Telugu cinema exists and they will also be missed forever.
