It's time to change, Chiru and Balayya!
Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are two top senior stars in the Telugu film industry
HYDERABAD: Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are two top senior stars in the Telugu film industry. They enjoy huge fan bases in Telugu states. Even now, their films open big at the box office. But the present generation's audience and their fans are disappointed by these aspects of Chiru and Balayya.
Those are the looks and heroine choices of these two heroes. If we take their latest films, Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy, as examples, both films feature Shruti Haasan as the female lead. She is younger than both Chiru and Balayya's daughters. Shruti's father, Kamal Haasan, is of their age.
When choosing her as a heroine, they should have at least rethought about their choice. Times have changed, and people are not accepting old heroes romancing heroines who are less than half of their age.
Moreover, the wigs and styling of Balayya and Chiru look more artificial. When their contemporaries like Kamal Haasan and Mammooty embrace their age and act without wigs, our heroes are still stuck with those artificial looks. If we ask them the same, they blame fans.
In some of the scenes, Chiru was also slimmed digitally in Waltair Veerayya. These are unnecessary aspects and make them look artificial on screen. It is high time for them to realize this fact and start doing roles that suit their age, stop wearing wigs and romance heroines who suit their age.
