Kantara's prequel is announced; slated for release in 2024

HYDERABAD: Kantara is one of the biggest hits in 2022. What was made as a Kannada film went on to become a pan-India blockbuster by collecting more than Rs. 300 crores at the box office. For the last few days, rumours started flowing in the media saying that there will be a second part for this film.
Finally, the film's writer-director-actor Rishab Shetty opened up about these speculations. Speaking at the 100 days event of Kantara, Rishab said that there will be a prequel to Kantara. He thanked the audience for making Kantara a huge success.
"The film has successfully completed 100 days and on this special occasion, I would like to announce the prequel to this movie," stated Rishab. He said that what we have seen is the second part and the first part will be made now.
Rishab stated that he got the idea of making this film while he was shooting for Kantara. The prequel is currently in the scripting stages. The makers are planning to release it in the summer of 2024. More details will be announced in the coming days.
