Karthi is the third star hero to achieve that rare feat - Nagarjuna

Hyderabad: King Nagarjuna called Karthi one of the rare heroes in the film industry who got out of their brothers' stardom and went on to become stars themselves. Nag attended the pre-release event of Sardar last night in Hyderabad. His Annapurna Studios is releasing the film in Telugu.

Speaking at the event, Nag said, "Karthi's brother Suriya was a Superstar when the former entered the industry. It's rare for an actor to come out of the shadows of his brother and attain his own stardom. Only two actors have achieved this feat before. One is Megastar Chiranjeevi's younger brother Pawan Kalyan and the other one is Shivarajkumar's younger brother Puneeth Rajkumar. Karthi is the third star who achieved that feat."

"By playing different characters and doing versatile films, Karthi became a Superstar like his brother Suriya. He not only speaks Telugu very well but also sings songs in our language. That is indeed a rare talent," Nagarjuna further added.

Both Nag and Karthi have earlier worked together for the film Oopiri. Meanwhile, Sardar is gearing up for the release tomorrow. Directed by PS Mithran, it features Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan as the female leads.
