Karthi & Surya - Can they be Pawan Kalyan & Rana

After Kamal Hassan's Vikram, Lokesh Kanagaraj became the talk of the South-Indian film industry. Director Lokesh made his directorial debut with Managaram and later helmed a few superhit films in Tamil including Karthi's Kaithi.

Now the latest buzz is that this director is in plans to remake a super-hit Malayali movie. Confirming the same, Lokesh Kanagaraj in a recent interview has mentioned that he wants to remake the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum in Tamil.

Also, Lokesh Kanagaraj said that he likes to rope Karthi and Suriya for Prithviraj and Biju Menon roles in Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Also, the director added, he feels Suriya will be perfect for the Bijju role, while Karthi would suit the Prithviraj role.

However, we hear that the remake rights are with a different production house and there is no clarity if Lokesh had approached them with the remake proposal. With the original available on OTT and the Telugu remake also landing on the streaming platforms, we have to see if this Tamil version clicks at the Kollywood box office.
