HYDERABAD: Ever since it was announced that Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Kushi will be re-released on New Year's eve, excitement was filled in fans' hearts. They waited with bated breath to witness the euphoria after a gap of 20 years. A huge anticipation was built around the movie even though it is a re-release.
Finally, Kushi hit the screens on December 31 and received a thumping response from the audience. Fans celebrated the film like never before in theatres. Each and every scene and song got whistles and cheers from the viewers.
Even after three days, the film is reporting housefuls in many theatres. According to the reports, Kushi grossed Rs. 250 crores in Nizam in the first weekend of its re-release. It is expected to collect a share of more than a crore in its full run. This proves the film to be an all-time blockbuster among all the recent re-releases.
Directed by SJ Suryah, Kushi featured Bhumika as the female lead. Ali, Shivaji and Vijay Kumar played other key roles in it. AM Ratnam bankrolled the project under his banner Sri Surya Movies. Mani Sharma composed the music for it.
