HYDERABAD: Director Vamshi Paidipally worked on a blockbuster titled Maharshi, starring Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Soon after the success of the movie, the director wanted to do another film with Mahesh Babu. The duo discussed on an interesting subject and Dil Raju came on board to pool the resources for the film.
However, the project has been called off. Just before the film was supposed to get announced, it has been dropped. Immediately after this, Vamshi Paidipally approached another actor Allu Arjun but it also did not work out. It is then, Vamshi approached Thalapathy Vijay who agreed to do the film. Titled Varisu, the film has been announced. Initially, it was planned as a bilingual but later, the makers dropped the idea.
Varisu is being made in Tamil currently and the movie will have its dubbed version released in Telugu. Titled Vaarasudu, the film is hitting the screens during Sankranthi 2023.
