HYDERABAD: In a surprising turn of events, superstar Mahesh Babu has made a groundbreaking decision causing waves in the film industry. The actor, known for commanding high remuneration for his projects, has opted to forgo any payment for his upcoming movie with director SS Rajamouli.
The much-anticipated collaboration between Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli has been in the spotlight for a while. Rajamouli announced the project, which is expected to be a pan-world film with an extravagant budget, before releasing his magnum opus "RRR."
According to recent updates, script work for the movie has been completed, and there are speculations that the formal launch may occur on Ugadi. While the budget for the film is rumored to be around Rs. 1000 crores, the unprecedented aspect of Mahesh Babu's decision has grabbed attention.
Reportedly, the actor has committed to working on the project without charging a single rupee as his remuneration. Instead, Mahesh Babu is said to have opted for a share in the profits generated after the movie's release.
This move departs from Mahesh Babu's usual remuneration, which has been in the range of Rs. 60-70 crores per film. The initial talks surrounding the collaboration with Rajamouli had suggested a remuneration of Rs. 110 crores for Mahesh Babu.
