Megastar Chiranjeevi to remake one more Malayalam blockbuster with Deverakonda or Jonnalagadda
Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently occupied with his upcoming movie Bholaa Shankar, which will be released worldwide on August 11
HYDERABAD: Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently occupied with his upcoming movie Bholaa Shankar, which will be released worldwide on August 11. Sources suggest that Chiru will collaborate with Kalyana Krishna, who directed Soggade Chinni Nayana, for his next film. The same reports have been floating on social media for quite some time.
It is said that this movie will be a remake of the Malayalam film Bro Daddy, which starred Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles as father and son, respectively.
In the Telugu remake, Chiru will portray Mohanlal's character while the filmmakers search for a young hero to play Prithviraj's role. Vijay Deverakonda and Siddhu Jonnalagadda have become potential contenders for the role, and one may be finalized soon. As of now, both the young heroes are busy with their commitments.
Chiranjeevi has been criticized for sticking to commercial movies and acting opposite younger heroines such as Tamannaah, Kajal, and Shruti Haasan since his return. This remake of Bro Daddy may be a suitable role for his age, which could be why he decided to take it up.
An official announcement regarding the project is expected to be made soon.
