HYDERABAD: The anticipation surrounding the Prabhas starrer "Kalki 2898 AD," directed by Nag Ashwin, has recently been palpable. However, the film's release has faced several postponements, leaving fans in suspense regarding its debut on the big screen.
Interestingly, the delay in the film's release can be attributed to the election schedule in Andhra Pradesh. Reports suggest that the team has narrowed down two potential release dates: May 30th and June 20th.
However, there's speculation about June 13th being considered as the release date, although this option seems impractical. This is due to the simultaneous release of Kamal Haasan's "Bharateeyudu 2," directed by Shankar, on the same day. With Kamal Haasan also a part of "Kalki," the team may avoid a clash with "Bharateeyudu 2."
Additionally, there are political considerations surrounding the film's release. Given that the film's producer, Ashwini Dutt, is known to support the TDP, there are concerns regarding ticket price hikes. However, if the YSRCP comes to power, securing such a hike could prove challenging, considering the film's substantial budget.
