Not AR Rahman but Devi Sri Prasad to score music for Sekhar Kammula's next?
The production team initially considered Oscar Award winner AR Rahman as the music director for the film but replaced with Devi Sri Prasad for undisclosed reasons
HYDERABAD: Tamil star Dhanush is all set to join hands with Sekhar Kammula for an interesting film. Sunil Narang and Pushkar Rammohan Rao will produce this film under the SVC LLP banner. The film became more captivating with the inclusion of Akkineni Nagarjuna in a pivotal role and Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady. Now, there is an interesting update on the film's music director.
Notably, the production team initially considered Oscar Award winner AR Rahman as the music director for the film. However, they have replaced AR Rahman with National Award Winner Devi Sri Prasad for undisclosed reasons.
Currently working on projects like "Pushpa 2: The Rule" and "Ustaad Bhagat Singh," along with two Tamil films, DSP has now been entrusted with composing the music for #D51.
Reportedly, Sekhar Kammula crafted the script based on a real event, and the film is set in a historical period with a political backdrop, set 30 to 40 years ago. The narrative will explore societal issues and economic irregularities during that era.
The first-look theme poster unveiled on Dhanush's birthday showcases a striking contrast between skyscrapers and slums, with bundles of currency as a bridge between the two worlds.
