HYDERABAD: SS Rajamouli's RRR became a sensation in the United States. The Americans went crazy over the film and showered so much love on it. After witnessing its thumping response in the west, everyone expected it to be India's official entry for the Oscars 2023.

However, the Film Federation of India (FFI) selected the Gujarati film Chhello Show as India's official entry, not RRR. Everyone was baffled by the decision. Even the western audience was shocked by FFI's oscar choice. All this while, Rajamouli was silent about the issue.

In his recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rajamouli opened up about RRR's snub. He agreed that it was disappointing but his team is not brooding it anymore. He said that what happened has happened and he is also happy about Chhello Show making it to the shortlist of the Best International Film nominations.

However, Rajamouli stressed that RRR had a bigger chance to win in this category. He stated that he can't comment on FFI's decision as he doesn't know how it functions and the guidelines for its selection. Meanwhile, RRR is competing in many other categories for the Oscars.

The song 'Naatu Naatu', which recently won the Golden Globe award in the Best Song category, is likely to fetch RRR an Oscar too.
