Hyderabad: Oppenheimer emerged as the big winner at the 96th annual Academy Awards, taking home seven Oscars, including Best Picture. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, also secured wins for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Score, and Best Director.
Poor Things also had a successful night, earning four Oscars, including Best Actress, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the ceremony featured biting comedic moments, with Kimmel poking fun at past Oscars mishaps. The first Oscar of the night went to Da’Vine Joy Randolph, winning Best Supporting Actress for her role in Alexander Payne’s "The Holdovers."
Robert Downey Jr. received the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in "Oppenheimer," while his co-star Cillian Murphy took home Best Actor.
Emma Stone secured Best Actress for her performance in "Poor Things," marking her second win in the category. Despite Greta Gerwig's absence from the directing category for "Barbie," the film earned a win for Best Original Song with "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell.
