Pathala Bhairavi remake with Hrithik Roshan - Superstar Krishna's last wish
Krishna revealed that he wants to remake Pathala Bhairavi in Hindi, with Hrithik Roshan in the lead role
HYDERABAD: Superstar Krishna...The actor attained massive stardom in Telugu after the likes of Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao. The man who introduced many technologies to Telugu cinema. The hero who never shied away from experimenting with his story choices. There are many such factors that made him stand out from the rest. He is truly the first Superstar of Telugu cinema.
In his vast career, Krishna introduced various technologies to Telugu cinema. He made the first Cow Boy film Mosagallaku Mosagadu (1971), the first Cinemascope film Alluri Seetha Ramaraju (1974), the first Eastman Colour film Eenadu (1982), the first 70MM film Simhasanam (1986) and the first DTS film Telugu Veera Levara (1995).
In a career spanning over six decades, Krishna acted in over 350 films, the most by any star hero in Telugu cinema. Now, his son Mahesh is carrying forward his legacy. Krishna was last seen in the 2016 film Sri Sri, which was directed by Muppalaneni Siva.
After Sri Sri, Krishna did not act in any films and was rarely seen at film related events. There was one unfulfilled wish of Superstar as a producer.
Last year, Krishna revealed that he wants to remake Pathala Bhairavi in Hindi, with Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. Krishna produced the Hindi remake of Pathala Bhairavi (1985) and the rights are still with Padmalaya Studios.
"Jeetendra who played the lead role in the Hindi remake wanted me to collaborate with him and remake the film again now with Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. I wanted to do it," revealed Krishna in an interview last year.
