HYDERABAD: 'Megastar' Chiranjeevi is not only a prominent personality in Telugu states but also in National cinema. A less-known fact about him was that Chiranjeevi represented Incredible India at the 14th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony held in Macau. He was also named one of "the men who changed the face of the Indian Cinema" by IBN LIVE.
Yesterday the news of Chiranjeevi being honored with Indian Film Personality of the Year was breaking across the media. The award facilitation shall take place at the opening of the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, announced the news at the film festival.
He also took to his Twitter handle and wrote "INDIAN FILM PERSONALITY @IFFIGoa Sh Chiranjeevi Ji has had an illustrious career spanning almost four decades, w/ over 150 films as an actor, dancer & producer. He is immensely popular in Telegu Cinema w/ incredible performances touching hearts! Congratulations @KChiruTweets".
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Chiranjeevi. Quoting Anurag's Tweet, "Chiranjeevi Garu is remarkable. His rich work, diverse roles, and wonderful nature have endeared him to film lovers across generations. Congratulations to him on being conferred the Indian Film Personality of the Year at @IFFIGoa @KChiruTweets" Modi wrote on Twitter.
