Prabhas' Adipurush opens big at the box office in Overseas

HYDERABAD: Prabhas' latest release, the mythological epic Adipurush, has tremendously impacted the global box office. The film has already surpassed $1 million in gross collections across North America, with expectations of reaching a massive $4 million gross in its opening weekend. The makers had huge expectations of the film's run at the box office in the overseas.

Trade updates show Adipurush garnered over $850,000 from pre-sales and Thursday night premieres in the USA and Canada. On Friday morning, the Telugu version of the film collected $180,000 from 230 locations by 9:30 am EST.

Simultaneously, the Hindi version grossed an additional $120,000 from 260 locations, resulting in a Friday total of $300,000 by 9:40 am EST. The film is reported to have opened big, and it is going to continue the same momentum for a couple more days.

While Adipurush features Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, the film has received a mixed response from fans and critics upon its release this morning. The success of the Om Raut directorial over the weekend remains uncertain, as it will depend on its ability to generate solid numbers despite the varied opinions.
