Prabhas as Bhairava in Kalki - From the streets of Kasi

HYDERABAD: Young Rebel Star Prabhas’ highly anticipated science fiction film, Kalki 2898 AD, is generating significant excitement among fans. Set to release on May 9th of this year, the film features Deepika Padukone alongside Prabhas in the lead roles.

Announced over three years ago, Kalki 2898 AD has been a topic of much discussion due to its star-studded cast and the rare exploration of its genre in Indian cinema. In a recent update shared on Maha Shivratri, the film's makers unveiled that Prabhas' character in the movie is named Bhairava.

“From the future streets of Kasi, Introducing ‘BHAIRAVA’ from Kalki 2898 AD," wrote the makers on social media.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, known for his previous works Yevade Subramanyam and Mahanati, Kalki marks his third directorial venture. This film also marks Ashwin's first collaboration with Prabhas on screen.

Initially announced in 2020 under the working title Project K, it was later revealed at the 2023 San Diego Comic Con that the film would be titled "Kalki 2898 AD," with Prabhas portraying the lead role.
