Producer drops crucial update on Samantha's Shakuntalam

Director Gunasekhar teamed up with Samantha for a female-oriented film titled Shakuntalam. Billed to be a mythological drama, the film is in the final leg of post-production. The makers remained silent for a while and the fans are demanding new updates. Neelima Gunaa who is the film's producer finally dropped a key update of the film that the movie will hit the screens this year itself.

When asked about the status of the film, Neelima revealed, "Lots of updates coming your way soon. We are waiting for the right time."

Answering to another question if the film is hitting the screens this year, Neelima wrote, that the film is releasing this year itself.

Shaakuntalam is based on Shakuntala of Kalidasa. Mani Sharma is composing the music. The film stars Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Aditi Balan, Gauthami, Ananya Nagalla, Kabir Duhan in other key roles. Allu Arha is also a part of the film, making her debut as a child artist in the role of Bharata.
