PS-1 joins 6 million club in the USA

HYDERABAD: Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is having a dream run at the box office. It was released on September 30 and witnessed huge openings in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Though it received mixed talk in Telugu and Hindi, PS-1 got unanimous positive talk in Tamil.

The Tamil audience accepted the film with open arms and made it a humongous success. Already, it crossed the 400-crore mark at the worldwide box office and emerged as one of the biggest successes in the Tamil film industry.

Now, it has set up another record. PS-1 collected a gross of more than $6 million in the USA and became the first Tamil film to achieve this feat. Already, it surpassed 2.0's collections in the USA and became the highest-grossing Tamil film over there.

Now, it became the first Tamil film to join the 6-million-club. As of now, PS-1 collected a gross of more than 50 crores in the United States.

PS-1 features Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Karthi and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles. AR Rahman composed the music for it.
