HYDERABAD: Maverick director SS Rajamouli made a big statement saying that the Malayalam film industry produces better actors than the Telugu film industry. He said that he is admitting to this fact with a bit of pain and jealousy.
Last night, Rajamouli attended the success meeting of Premalu, a Telugu-dubbed version of a Malayalam film of the same name. Speaking at the event, Rajamouli stated he is generally not interested in the rom-com genre. He also didn't think much when his son Karthikeya bought the Telugu rights of the movie. But when he finally watched the movie, he thoroughly enjoyed it and recalled how he had a smile on his face throughout the film. He also appreciated 90s director Aditya Hasan, who penned the Telugu dialogues of Premalu.
Rajamouli also appreciated the film's lead actors Naslen, Mamitha Baiju, Akhila Bhargavan, and Shyam. He also added that Mamitha could soon become a heartthrob for the Telugu youth just like Girija (Geethanjali fame) and Sai Pallavi.
