HYDERABAD: Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan are among the biggest stars of South Indian cinema. They are the two eyes of the Tamil film industry. They might be rivals in films but are close friends in real life.

If the ongoing grapevine is anything to go by, Kamal and Rajini are set to clash at the box office after a gap of 18 years. The last time they took on each other at the box office was in 2005. Rajini's Chandramukhi and Kamal's Mumbai Express were released on the same day in 2005. Chandramukhi became a blockbuster while Mumbai Express ended up as a flop.

According to the sources, Rajini's upcoming film Jailer and Kamal's next flick Indian 2 are eyeing for a grand release on November 10, 2023, during the Diwali festive weekend. If the news is true, this Diwali is going to be huge in Tamil cinema.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer features Tamannaah, Ramya Krishna, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Yogi Babu, Jackie Shroff and Sunil in main roles.

On the flip side, Indian 2 is directed by Shankar. Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet and Siddharth play pivotal roles in it.
