HYDERABAD: Rana Daggubati's presence at the Comic-Con event in San Diego has created buzz and excitement among fans as he represents his next film, "Hiranyakashyapa," a movie based on a mythological figure. However, the situation took a contentious turn when director Gunasekhar, known for the film "Shaakuntalam," expressed his displeasure.
Gunasekhar had previously announced "Hiranyakashyapa" and had been working on the project before his film "Rudramadevi." Rana Daggubati's recent announcement regarding the film, with the talented director Trivikram working on the script, seemed to have sparked a debate online.
In response to the developments, Gunasekhar posted a tweet indirectly hinting at Rana's actions. He wrote, "While making God the central theme of your story, you must also keep in mind that God keeps an eye on your integrity. Unethical acts will be answered through ethical means."
For Gunasekhar, "Hiranyakashyapa" has always been considered his dream project, and Rana Daggubati was his first choice for the lead role.
Rana Daggubati has not responded to the situation, leaving fans curious about his stance on the matter. Suresh Productions, which funded the pre-production for Gunasekhar, will be pooling the resources for the project. More details of the film are awaited.
