HYDERABAD: The announcement of South Indian actor Jr. NTR joining the cast of War 2 has generated immense excitement among fans. The original War, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, was a massive success, and expectations for its sequel soared with the inclusion of Jr. NTR. When the announcement was made, the fans were on cloud 9 to witness Tarak in a Bollywood film.
In a surprising twist, Ayan Mukerji, known for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra, will direct this action thriller instead of Siddharth Anand. Produced by Yash Raj Films, War 2 now has an official release date – it is set to hit cinemas on 14th August 2025.
The second day of War 2 coincides with a national holiday, presenting a significant opportunity for the film to potentially cross the 100 crores nett mark in a single day. While a Hindi film has not achieved this milestone, the collaboration of Bollywood and Tollywood heavyweights in War 2 makes any record seem within reach.
War 2 marks the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. The dynamic duo of NTR and Hrithik Roshan is set to commence work on this highly anticipated project soon.
