Satya Dev returns to success with 'Gurtunda Seethakalam'

HYDERABAD: Among the seventeen films that have been released this weekend, only a couple of them have managed to get a buzz before the film. While one has the faces of reputed stars, the other one has a good backing of a big production. The film that has both is 'Gurtunda Seethakalam'

The film stars Sathya Dev in the lead role. The film tells the story of a middle-aged guy (Dev) who rescues a woman and reminisces about his past love life with her by sharing with her all the heartbreaks he endured in his quest to find true love.

Directed by Nagasekhar, this film is an official remake of the Kannada blockbuster film 'Love Mocktail'. The deal with remakes is that they have to actually reflect the core emotion that got hooked the audience in the original and this translation is where everyone fails, unlike Nagasekhar. The film actually managed to pull off the emotions and chemistry quite perfectly as the original.

Along with the lead actors Sathya Dev, Megha Akash and Tammannah, the cinematography by Satya Hegde stands out. The breezy visuals followed by the soothing score by Kaala Bhairava paid off really well. Although the film suffers a slow pace here & there, by the end of the film, the viewer feels the warmth of the story along with the beauty of the visuals.
